FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATION
Bhandary Foundation and Sahyadri Educational Institutions celebrated the Foundation Day celebrated on 23-3-2013 in the Sahyadri Campus. Mr. G. Rajendran, Deputy General Manager, Canara Bank, Circle Office, Mangalore, was the Chief Guest at the formal function. He welcomed the opportunity given to him to attend the function and said that it was a joyous moment and a rare privilege. He was awed at the number of students who were felicitated during the function and applauded the Management and the Faculty for giving the students an all round development in academics, sports and cultural activities. He said that the banking industry would have to re-think its policies on extending financial help to educational institutions in future. Mr. Rajendran praised the aesthetics of the Sahyadri Educational Institutions and said that in a short span of time the institute is sure to become a world renowned one.
The academic toppers in the VTU examinations, the toppers of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), and the sports achievers were felicitated during the formal function.
On this occasion a cultural program of the students was organized to provide a platform to showcase their talents. Students of Engineering, Management, Health Sciences and Management Science exhibited their talents.
Bhandary Foundation is recognized as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.
Bhandary Foundation, Mangaluru, Karnataka is recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research Organization under Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) based on Industrial research programmes conducted in its constituents college Viz: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru and all other development in the Institution. The department has observed the infrastructure facilities provided, work undertaken and the vision of the foundation.
The scientific and Industry-oriented activities, research-oriented teaching & training programmes, projects undertaken with the financial assistance from various Govt. agencies like DST/AICTE/DRDO/VGST and other industries, patents filed by the Institution, industrial & entrepreneurial activities organized are the various milestones that brought this recognition to the institute.
Bhandary Foundation, founded during the year 2002, in a short span of time has emerged as an enterprising entity in the field of education and social activities. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary Chairman's novel thoughts added a new dimension to the world of education.
Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management established in the year 2007 under the aegis of Bhandary Foundation at Sahyadri Campus, Adyar, Mangaluru, Karnataka has created a niche for its existence. The motto of the institution is to promote quality education driven by competent research in the area of Technical and Management studies.
